This wine will turn it up a notch, and it should with its intense, inky violet color and aromas most often associated with tobacco, spices, leather, bell peppers, dark fruit, coffee and chocolate. The palate profile can echo the nose, but is largely dominated by currents, as well as both black and red fruits, white pepper with some subtle earthy notes. Interesting layers of complexity keep your attention and the well-developed finish is both elegant and enduring. We find this to be more of a medium-bodied wine that can be enjoyed in its younger years or will cellar and show amazing differences with age. Pair this fun, yet a bit exotic wine with beef, pork, and poultry, pastas with meat-based sauces as well as game and 'food with spice'.
